Evelyn Gresham, pictured with her hand-crafted doll Evie (companion to her book), has been writing poetry and children’s stories ever since she was young. She attended Cincinnati State College for Early Childhood Education. She has taught children’s Sunday School, Bible School, and Vacation Bible School for preschoolers. She has worked in the medical field for twenty one years as a nursing assistant and telemetry tech. In addition, Ms. Gresham has volunteered in various daycare centers as well as the YMCA.

Ms Gresham grew up in New York City in an ethnically rich neighborhood where she had friends of many different nationalities. Each day was exciting, new and ripe with possibilities. "I wanted to celebrate the diversity that has continued to inspire me into my adulthood," she stated. Ms. Gresham has one son and a dog named Snowball. She loves to visit public libraries and ventures into the children’s section to read and admire the work of all authors and illustrators.
